Homes are going for about $307,700 on average. You can expect to pay around $980 for rent here. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What do you all think? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 7 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The job market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
