Starting a business in Suncrest?

Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $469,600 on average. Median household income is $101,964, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I wrong here? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 4 years. Moved from Charlotte for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is decent - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Road conditions need improvement. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The cultural scene is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 15 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
