Is Sunland Park worth moving to in 2026?

Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $770/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Sunland Park sits at 359.1 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $770 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 9 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to San Diego it's decent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 2 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
