Unpopular opinion about Sunland Park

Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $194,900, which is actually reasonable. Poverty rate is 23.3%, which is higher than I expected. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Hope this helps!.
