Biggest downsides of living in Sunnyside?

Curious what people think. I've been here for 11 years and Poverty rate is 15.2%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 10 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
