Raising a family in Sunnyside -thoughts?

Hey folks, The median home value here is around $207,200, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 16,329, Sunnyside is a small town. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Worth the trade-offs? The weather takes some getting used to.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from San Diego about 6 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is solid.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..
