Hey everyone, I'm retired and It's a a small town city with about 3,674 people. Median household income is $131,250, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $677,600, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 0.8%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Background: I'm a social worker, 24, moved here 1 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Meadowbrook and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The pet-friendliness situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$140K here.
