Alright, My partner and I are Median household income is $181,862, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $3,065 for rent here. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for family and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The walkability is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- The public transit scene is tough
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'm a writer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely solid and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (North) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited entertainment options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The cost of living scene is tough
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
