The median home value here is around $537,500, which is pretty steep. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 14 years ago. The main reasons were weather and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.
