What surprised you most about Surfside?

So, I'm a 44-year-old mechanic and Rent is about $1,795/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $88,938, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,795 for rent here. Household incomes average around $88,938 in Surfside. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Low taxes
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Cold winters
- Rising rent prices
- Not very walkable
- Poor road conditions
Thanks in advance! I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much developing but now it's average.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from San Francisco about 9 years ago. The main reasons were weather and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..
