I'm a accountant who relocated here from Houston about 15 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..
