We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in East area are tough. Kids love it here.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The public transit is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Austin about 6 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Definitely worth checking out..
