OK so I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $384,900 on average. Rent is about $1,231/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Sussex sits at 22.2 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from New York about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in West for 6 years. Moved from San Francisco for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
retail is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Far from beaches/mountains. And food scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
