Longtime lurker here, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 14 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Uptown. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in tech. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like sushi.
No regrets on my end..

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
