Pros and cons of Sweet Home after 7 years
Hey folks, My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $1,135 for rent here. Rent is about $1,135/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.
Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Limited dining options
- Far from major airports
- Not enough green space
Thoughts? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
