Pros and cons of Sweet Home after 7 years

Hey folks, My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $1,135 for rent here. Rent is about $1,135/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Limited dining options
- Far from major airports
- Not enough green space
Thoughts? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much affordable but now it's tough.
