Commute times in Sylvania -how bad?

My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -Sylvania sits at 68.3 per 100K. Rent is about $1,019/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $95,610 in Sylvania. It's a a small town city with about 19,038 people. With a population of 19,038, Sylvania is a small town. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thoughts? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in legal. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The pet-friendliness is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
