Hi all, I'm a 45-year-old chef and Rent is about $1,019/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Sylvania sits at 68.3 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What do you all think? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
