Things Sylvester needs to improve

So, Household incomes average around $59,808 in Sylvester. Median household income is $59,808, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $125,000 on average. It's a a small town city with about 5,557 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Has anyone dealt with this? The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Westside area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Tampa about 12 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..
