Random thought, Military spouse here. Rent is about $998/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 24.2%, which is higher than I expected. With a population of 146K, Syracuse is a mid-size city. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
