What Syracuse does better than anywhere else

Hey everyone, Average temperature is around 51°F, so expect cold winters. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Is this normal for Syracuse? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in The Heights for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The pet-friendliness scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. No regrets on my end..
