Freelancing from Tabor City -experience?

Alright, My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -Tabor City sits at 910.9 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Is this normal for Tabor City?

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The walkability is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
