So, I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $83,857, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 220K, Tacoma is a mid-size city. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.
