Talent is underrated, change my mind

Alright, I've been here for 7 years and Homes are going for about $365,500 on average. Household incomes average around $53,843 in Talent. Crime rate is something to consider -Talent sits at 136.3 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Any advice would be great. Looking forward to hearing from you all. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely average and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Springfield) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Charlotte it's better than expected.

I work in hospitality here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..
