Anyone else feel this way? Military spouse here. Median household income is $91,273, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,008 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Thoughts? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Portland about 5 years ago. The main reasons were school and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is average.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

I work in construction here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is improving. Definitely worth checking out..
