Best and worst neighborhoods in Tamaqua

OK so Household incomes average around $44,803 in Tamaqua. The median home value here is around $78,500, which is actually reasonable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What would you do? TIA! Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 5 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is improving in most areas.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The nightlife is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 9 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I work in manufacturing here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is pretty good. Definitely worth checking out..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 27, moved here 1 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Westside and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Limited shopping options
3. The community vibe situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for remote workers. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
