Random thought, Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. Median household income is $59,216, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,791 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. TIA! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 3 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from San Francisco about 6 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Winters are long and cold
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is tough.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Happy to answer more specific questions..
