So, I grew up here but left for a while. Homes are going for about $259,100 on average. Median household income is $59,216, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,791/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Thoughts? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 10 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
