Couple moving to Tampa from out of state

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $375,300, which seems about average. With a population of 393K, Tampa is a mid-size city. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What would you do?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from San Francisco about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong sense of community
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Italian places. it's not perfect but it works for me.
