Is Tampa getting better or worse?

First post here. Crime rate is something to consider — Tampa sits at 405.0 per 100K. Poverty rate is 11.6%, which is around average. Median household income is $71,302, which feels about average for the area. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've lived in Highland for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- The public transit scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Definitely worth checking out..
