I'm retired and Household incomes average around $71,302 in Tampa. With a population of 393K, Tampa is a mid-size city. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Has anyone dealt with this? TIA!

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from San Diego about 12 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

I've been here 2 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..
