Anyone else feel this way? I grew up here but left for a while. Rent is about $1,779/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,779 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 6,822 people. With a population of 6,822, Tanglewilde is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. What are your go-to spots? Thanks! Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Miami about 11 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Korean places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The weather is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
