You can expect to pay around $2,145 for rent here. With a population of 15,531, Tanque Verde is a small town. The median home value here is around $573,000, which is pretty steep. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much established but now it's average.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in legal. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for family and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The dating scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is tough in most areas.
