Working in Tarboro -salaries realistic?

Median household income is $49,386, which feels on the lower side for the area. Rent is about $698/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Came here for family and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The healthcare is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a software engineer and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is average and there's always something going on.
