Rent vs buy in Tarrytown -what makes sense?

Hey, The median home value here is around $639,700, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $639,700 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $109,732 in Tarrytown. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What are your go-to spots? The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
