Hey, I've been here for 3 years and With a population of 59,719, Taunton is a smaller city. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in West area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Asian.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Fairview for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- The food scene scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..
