What I wish I knew before living in Taunton

Alright, My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $79,715 in Taunton. Homes are going for about $388,200 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Taunton sits at 380.5 per 100K. Poverty rate is 9.7%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Good schools
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited dining options
- Boring for young people
- Limited cultural events
- Not enough green space
I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Used to live on the Eastside side, now on the East side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.
