Hey folks, We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Would love some local perspective. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Springfield. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The food scene is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in East. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The public transit is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much reasonable but now it's underrated.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Downtown for 5 years. Moved from Miami for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is average - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Downtown schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Limited shopping options. And nightlife can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is better than expected in most areas.
