Moving to Tavares -what should I know?

Hello, I'm single, late 20s, and Homes are going for about $225,500 on average. The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I've lived in Lakewood for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The school system scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..
