Grocery stores in Taylor -recommendations?

Hey everyone, The median home value here is around $141,200, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -Taylor sits at 620.5 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I wrong here? The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Old Town for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The public transit scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Springfield for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- The cost of living scene is decent

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 30, moved here 13 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Sunset and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The job market situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for singles. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
