Homes are going for about $141,200 on average. Rent is about $1,036/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 14.6%, which is around average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've lived in Westside for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The job market scene is solid
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The food scene is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much reasonable but now it's solid.
