Things that make Taylor unique

OK so I'm originally from Kansas City and The median home value here is around $141,200, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Anyone in a similar situation? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Dallas it's challenging.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Austin about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. No regrets on my end..
