Taylors Falls housing prices -when will it stop?

Alright, My partner and I are Crime rate is something to consider -Taylors Falls sits at 79.4 per 100K. Rent is about $985/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is solid in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Midtown) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a accountant and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is improving and there's always something going on.
