Why I chose Taylors over bigger cities

Hello, I've been here for 20 years and The median home value here is around $242,700, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $71,747, which feels about average for the area. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $242,700 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What are your go-to spots? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in construction. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Southern.

No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Dallas it's underrated.
