Unpopular opinion about Tecumseh

OK so Born and raised here. It's a a small town city with about 6,320 people. The median home value here is around $107,600, which is actually reasonable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Has anyone dealt with this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from San Diego about 2 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
