Unpopular opinion about Tega Cay

Anyone else feel this way? I'm single, late 50s, and Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 0.7%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,307 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Diverse community
- Low taxes
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Not very walkable
- Poor road conditions
- Limited cultural events
What are your go-to spots? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I've lived in West for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- The outdoor recreation scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely underrated and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Boston it's decent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Portland about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
