Worst things about Tega Cay nobody talks about

Homes are going for about $494,500 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,307 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 1.1%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,307/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I overthinking this? The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much reasonable but now it's improving.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I've lived in East for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The cost of living scene is solid

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 2 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Midtown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
- The outdoor recreation scene is tough

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been here 12 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
