Is Telluride getting better or worse?
Been meaning to ask this. Born and raised here. It's a a small town city with about 2,595 people. Household incomes average around $97,330 in Telluride. Homes are going for about $390,300 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
Pros:
- Good job market
- Growing food scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Lack of diversity
- Poor road conditions
- Not enough green space
Should I be concerned? Cheers. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
