Just moved to Temecula, any tips?

It's a a mid-size city city with about 110K people. Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $640,400 on average. Rent is about $2,297/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $640,400, which is pretty steep. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Temecula? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..
