What's it really like living in Temecula?

First post here. Rent is about $2,297/month for a decent place.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for school and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The public transit is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 37, moved here 6 years ago from Boston. I've lived in Pine Hills and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The outdoor recreation situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for remote workers. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Boston, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 27, moved here 8 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in The Heights and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Winters are long and cold
3. The nightlife situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for remote workers. improving vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Seattle about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Midtown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options
- The cultural scene scene is improving

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
