How is Temescal Valley for outdoor activities?

Just moved here 7 months ago and Median household income is $119,647, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $648,200, which is pretty steep. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Would love some local perspective. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 7 years. Moved from Boston for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Bugs and humidity in summer. Far from beaches/mountains. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much competitive but now it's improving.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Greenfield side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Nashville about 1 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The nightlife scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 4 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
